Michael Leavitt, PE, one of our lead mechanical engineers at Root Engineers, is excited to be moderating a panel at the upcoming NCIA Cannabis Business Summit in San Jose, CA. Michael will lead a panel of cannabis extraction experts through a discussion surrounding extraction facility design. This panel presentation comes just a month after our founder, Laura Breit, spoke about hemp processing regulations at CBD Expo NORTHWEST.
“Designing Your Extraction Facility for Success” will take place from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on July 24 during the summit. Experts in extraction from across the industry, including Gene Galyuk of Capna Systems, Vincent Collins of Code Unlimited, Jake Didion of Apeks Supercritical, and Julyn Andrews of Lunchbox Alchemy, will discuss the different considerations that go along with producing extracts. Starting a processing facility is a complex process, and the industry is not yet at a point where a standard set of guidelines apply to each operation. Panelists specialize in different methods of extraction and will discuss important regulatory issues, common mistakes and complications when setting up a facility, and innovative new technology in the extraction industry.
